Once in a while the question comes to me….is Beachbody a pyramid scheme? Well, the answer is NO. Beachbody is “network marketing” which is completely different. “People are often misinformed about network marketing and get the business model confused with illegal pyramid schemes. To give a short summary, a pyramid scheme is similar to a Ponzi scheme. Pyramid schemes are to the network marketing industry as Ponzi schemes are to the Investment industry. Both look like a legitimate business opportunity and look like they are based on the business model, but they promise high returns with no work involved except for getting other people into the scheme and paying those above them with the money taken in by new investors. Why they always ultimately fail is that as the scheme grows, new investors are required to put more money in. Once the bubble bursts, the scheme falls apart and everyone gets burned.” – Coach Jim Wyatt.
The primary income for Ponzi and pyramid schemes is from new investors. They bring in new investors to pay the old investors. Beachbody, on the other hand, cost is paid directly to Beachbody for the products. Also, with Beachbody, there is no requirement to hold inventory. Purchases are directed through their websites to Beachbody who handles everything including shipping.
In a pyramid scheme, new investors cannot obtain a higher rank than their recruiter. With Beachbody, every coach is INDEPENDENT which means any coach can out earn and out grow their recruiting coach. Everything depends on how much work you put into the business. The more you work….the more you earn. Beachbody coaches share in the profits made through commissions of their independent organizations. The coaching fees that are paid monthly go directly to Beachbody for their websites and online office.
So, what is a coach then? A coach is a person who is a PRODUCT OF THE PRODUCT and who’s goal is to help others lose weight, be healthy, gain muscle, get toned, have more energy…..Being a coach is for those who are passionate about helping others and building a business. Their job is to mentor and encourage others to stay committed to their workout program.
Beachbody is just about people recommending a product that they use themselves and are getting amazing results. You do this everyday….recommend a new restaurant you love, store to go to etc, but now they get paid for it. You make commissions are products you love and by promoting changes in peoples lives that are POSITIVE! Obesity is an epidemic in the States right now and Beachbody is partnering with their customers/coaches to End the Trend.
